The Neo Publishing System brings the management and planning of all media types to a single console. Neo supplies the framework for the Neo Books system. Neo Books is managed and administered via the Neo editorial system. Neo provides advanced tools for communication, efficient methods of material routing, instant messaging, internal and external data search tools, asset placement and a variety of asset classification options.
Neo Books
Neo Books provides an easy-to-use interface that can be tailored for individual users within an organization; access to publications can be limited to specific users or departments. Publications that are in progress are managed via a graphical project calendar. The calendar shows relevant deadlines for each publication such as due dates for the script, the lay-out, originals headed to press and return of the final publication from the press. The reporting function provides the option to run reports and summaries either manually or automatically from the system.
The basic Neo Books system may be expanded to include sales and marketing functions, material management and an image archive. The delivery system module includes a page planning component wherein pages for publication are planned and managed; each page is represented via a visual thumbnail with the layout. Many of the system functions can also be made browser-based as well. Each system uses the same data resources as the base system, thus increasing operational efficiency and reducing the potential for errors.
Gummerus’ Financial and Administrative Director Esa Pikkarainen states, “Our goal is to unify and ease the work of our editing offices. We were looking for systems with which we could manage the entire life cycle of publications. We also wanted a system that could easily be expanded. We chose Anygraaf’s Neo Books because it incorporates all of these features.”
“We see Gummerus as an excellent partner with a diverse organization and extensive experience in book publishing. In the future they can expand Neo’s capabilities to include content management as well”, says Anygraaf’s Product Manager, Harri Taskinen.
