HELSINKI, FINLAND — Vaarojen Sanomat, a rural weekly community newspaper published by Juuka-seura ry, has completed a comprehensive modernization of its publishing infrastructure in partnership with Anygraaf and its SaaS service partner Ylä-Satakunnan Sanomalehti (Y/S). Juuka-seura ry is a non-partisan local heritage and regional development association based in the municipality of Juuka, Finland. Officially launched on July 1, 2026, the overhaul replaces legacy systems across editorial planning, advertising sales, and customer service with a unified cloud ecosystem.
The initiative leverages a joint service model developed by Anygraaf and Ylä-Satakunnan Sanomalehti, specifically designed to bring enterprise-grade media technology to smaller newsrooms. Timed alongside recent internal personnel changes, the transition allowed Vaarojen Sanomat to evaluate its entire operational model—replacing virtually all core software except accounting in favor of streamlined multi-channel workflows.
Empowering Local Newsrooms with Modern Media Tech
Built around Anygraaf’s publishing software — including the Neo multi-channel content management system (CMS), AProfit CRM and advertising sales platform, and digital ePaper publishing modules — the new environment eliminates manual data entry and fragmented system silos.
By automating routine administrative tasks, the newsroom’s small team can focus more time on core local journalism, community coverage, and revenue growth.
“ICT and system projects can easily feel cold, mechanical, and impersonal. In this project, working in close collaboration with Ylä-Satakunnan Sanomalehti and Anygraaf, technology finally got a face,” said Sari Sirkkiä, Editor-in-Chief of Vaarojen Sanomat and Executive Director of Juuka-seura ry
“Our partners’ deep understanding of everyday local newsroom operations was invaluable during such a major transition,” Sirkkiä added. “System implementation and staff training proceeded seamlessly, allowing us to go live on schedule.”
Media Expertise Meets Cloud Innovation
A core strength of the service concept is pairing Anygraaf’s system architecture with practical publishing expertise from Y/S. Project management and team training were delivered in clear, manageable units to ensure smooth adoption without disrupting daily deadlines.
“This is precisely what makes our service concept so effective. Alongside Anygraaf’s technical capabilities, we bring practical, hands-on newsroom experience. We evaluate every tool through how it performs in daily reporting, ad sales, and customer service,” Said Jukka Huikko, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Y/S and Project Manager.
The modernized system reinforces Vaarojen Sanomat’s primary mission: ensuring technology serves the newsroom so journalists can continue delivering strong, independent local coverage to the Juuka community for years to come.
